Alice Baker, 86, of Columbus, formerly of New Boston, died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the Arlington Court Nursing Center in Columbus. She was born on January 22, 1925 in Cheshire, a daughter of the late Alex and Glenna Rife Shuler. Alice was a proud volunteer for 35 years at SOMC. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Charles Baker, a brother, Ross Shuler and a sister, Violet Larkin. Surviving are her daughter, Kay Baker of Columbus and brother-in-law, Bill Larkin of Hannibal. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN PORTSMOUTH with Peter Michael officiating. Interment will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery in Cheshire.
