Barbara Lewis

Barbara Jean Lewis, 69, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on January 1, 1943 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Maggie Sparks Duncan, employed at the former Williams Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Lakeview Community Church. Barbara graduated at Portsmouth High School in 1961. Surviving are her husband, Roger Lewis, whom she married on June 14, 1968 in South Shore, KY, a son, Jimmie (Amy Griffith) of Portsmouth, a sister, Joyce Schiltz of Columbus, the light of her life granddaughter, Ginny Renee Lewis, nephews David and Mike Schiltz and a niece, Diana Lanthorn. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN PORTSMOUTH with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Portsmouth from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday.
