Betty Joan Stone, 82, of Wheelersburg, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, December 29, 2017. Born on February 9, 1935 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ruby Williams Chamberlin.
Also preceding her in death were her sweetheart from school days and husband of 64 years, Donald Stone; a granddaughter, Johnda Kay Conn and two sisters, Karen R. Rice and Angela Marie Chamberlin.
Don and Betty would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on December 26, 2017.
Betty was a 1953 graduate of Wheelersburg High school and a faithful member of Rubyville Community Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Pamela Sue (Rick) Kennard, Vicki Lynn (Daniel) Roark and Brenda Kay (Johnnie) Conn; a sister, Sharon C. (Elvis) Wright; a brother, E. Dean (Shirley) Chamberlin; five grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan and Adam Conn, Benjamin Kennard and Elizabeth Key; twelve great-grandchildren and one on the way.
She has a large family and church family that she loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 2nd, at Rubyville Community Church with Calvin Ray Evans and Brian Baer officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL SERVICE IN SCIOTOVILLE from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice.
The family would like to thank the Minford Retirement Center, and their caregivers, for their wonderful care and compassion. Special recognition to Hank and his family who have been wonderful friends to our mother and to us. The family also wishes to thank SOMC Hospice for their care and compassion.
