Betty J. Whitley, 85, of Wheelersburg, died Saturday in the ICU of Southern Ohio Medical Center with her family by her bedside. Born on June 19, 1930 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Hattie Morris Carver.
Betty was a 1947 graduate of Clay High School and a member of Christ Sanctuary.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Randy K. Whitley; a brother, Franklin B. Carver and a sister, Huberta Keith.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Orlea W. Whitley, Jr.; two sons, Timothy P. Whitley of Wheelersburg and Dale W. (Karen) Whitley of Columbus; one brother, Marvin E. Carver of Wishart, MO; six grandchildren, Timothy P. Whitley, II, Daniel D. (Emily) Whitley, Rachelle L. (Nick) Perkins, Joshua D. (Erin) Whitley, Sarah J. (Chris) Day, and Josiah D. Whitley; 15 great-grandchildren, Eli, Gabe, Quin and Josi Whitley, Zach and Lexi Whitley, Brooke and Blake Grant, Kenzie Whitley, Jacoby Chamberlin, Brody and Kaden Perkins, Judah, Samson and Elliana Whitley; and her Yorkie, Chiefie.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Steve Phipps officiating. Interment will be in Bennett Cemetery.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
