Carl “Bob” Locher, 87, of Rosemount, died Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Heartland of Portsmouth. Born on July 8, 1928 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Chester L. and Lola Mitchell Locher and a Marine veteran of the Korean War.
Bob was a member of Wheelersburg Church of Christ, retired salesman for Sears, and then worked for the former Capitol Pontiac and later at Glockner’s. He was a 1947 graduate of Fairfield High School in Fairfield, AL and former board member of the Scioto County Health Department.
Also preceding him in death were his wife, Barbara Knauff Locher, a brother, Chester Locher, Jr. and a sister, Evelyn Locher Chaffin.
Bob is survived by a son, Terry W. Locher of Leominster, MA; a daughter, Melinda J. Locher of Columbus; a sister, Mary (Gilbert) Hayes of Portsmouth; and three grandchildren, Barbara, Abigail and Vinnie.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Lynn Wessel officiating. Interment will be in Rosemount Cemetery.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday
