Brenda E. Risner, 55, of Wheelersburg, went to be with Jesus, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the SOMC Hospice while surrounded by family. Born on February 25, 1970, in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Effie Smith Risner and was a graduate of Happy Hearts School.
Brenda, affectionately known as “Angel”, “Star” and “Hero”, was a graduate of Happy Hearts. During her time there, she was in the Girl Scouts, known for selling the most cookies. She didn’t ask if you wanted to purchase-just how many did you want.
Another nickname she was famous with was “Karaoke Princess”, as she wasn’t shy in taking the microphone and belting out with the music.
But of all of her activities, she was devoted to her church, Sand Hill Christian Church. When the doors opened for any activity, Brenda was there.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Lloyd Risner.
Surviving are four brothers, Larry Risner of Wheelersburg, Harold Risner of North Vernon, IN, Leonard Risner of New Boston and Vernon Risner of Wheelersburg; three sisters, Linda Risner of Wheelersburg, Darlene Stiles of Wheelersburg and Trina Slone of South Webster; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
A Celebration of Brenda’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3rd, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Jared Timberlake officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
