Bruce Nourse

Bruce Franklin Nourse, 90, of Twin Valley, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born November 5, 1921 in New Boston, he was a son of the late Frank and Grace Murray Nourse, was an army air corps veteran of World War II, and a professional bricklayer. Bruce was a long time member of Twin Valley Baptist Church and was instrumental in the building of the new church. Also preceding him in death were his first wife, Jean McClurg Nourse, a daughter, Karen Drake, brothers Donald, Bernard and Dallas Nourse, and a sister, June Quinn. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Myers Nourse, two daughters, Linda (John) Miller of Georgetown, KY and Marcia Nourse of West Carrollton, two stepsons, Dean (Jackie) Scott of Maineville and Mark (Lori) Scott of Eden Park, a sister, Carolyn, grandchildren, Chris Miller, Jason (Jennifer) Miller, Joshua (Hannah) Adkins, Sarah Adkins and Rebekah (Andy) McCloud; step-grandchildren, Dean (Dawn) Scott, Jr., Brandi Scott, Wendy (Steve) Behrle, Andrew Scott and Tyler Scott, and 14 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN PORTSMOUTH with Dennis Dawes and Don Noel officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Portsmouth after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Valley Baptist Church or SOMC Hospice.
