Orin “Bud” Felts, 89, of Sciotoville, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the SOMC emergency room. Born on May 11, 1928 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Benton and Madell Felts and was a retired machinist for Detroit Steel Corporation.
Bud was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a 1946 graduate of East High School. He was formerly employed at the N & W Railroad for 10 years, a member of Western Sun Masonic Lodge #91 and was a very active member of the Sciotoville Boat Club.
Also preceding him in death were his wife, Janet Shackleford Felts, a son-in-law, Tim Liles, a brother, Clarence Felts and three sisters, Mildred Mucha, Willie Marsh and Bonnie Jacobs.
Surviving are a son, Kevin Felts of Sciotoville; a daughter, Kris Liles of Sciotoville; a daughter-in-law, Vicci Felts of Portsmouth; a brother, Ronald “Butch” (Pat) Felts of Florida; four grandchildren, Craig (Cami) Felts, Megan (Jeremy) Ketter, Lindsey (Lionel) Hamilton and Max (Ali) Liles and nine great-grandchildren, Lilli, Aubrie, Avery, Benton, Alexandra, Alaina, Magdylan, Cooper and Bowen and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Bud’s Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor John Richards officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday with a procession leaving Brant’s at 10:30 a.m.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s after 5:00 on Wednesday.
Memorial gifts may be made to Christ’s United Methodist Church Building Fund or Sierra’s Haven.
