Carl E. Riepenhoff, 88, of Wheelersburg, went to be with his Lord Sunday, December 11, 2011 after a brief illness. Born November 15, 1923 in New Boston, he was a son of the late Charles and Ola Sparks Riepenhoff and was a retired clerk at the Norfolk and Western Railroad. Carl was a member of the Wheelersburg United Methodist Church and the James Dickey Post of the American Legion, and was an Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Rosella Metzler Riepenhoff, sons Ronald (Janet) Riepenhoff of Sciotoville and Larry (Vicki) Riepenhoff of Wheelersburg, a brother, Everett of Vandalia, a sister, Alma Canary of Dayton, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Also preceding Carl in death were brothers Harold and Ralph, and a sister, Genevieve Hilliard. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens with military honors by the James Dickey Post. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service.
