Carol Jean Ginn, 89, of Portsmouth, died Friday, September 16, 2011, at Hempstead Manor. Born August 20, 1922 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Sarah Hoover Poole, fancy stitcher at the former Williams Manufacturing Co. and a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Lowell Ginn in 1977, brothers Ralph and Bernard Poole, and sisters Beulah Poole, Lavaughn Osmeyer and Margie Poole. Surviving are a son, Jerry (Linda) Ginn of Portsmouth, a daughter, Nancy (Robert) Ray of Granville, a sister, Alice Peterson of Milford, 8 grandchildren, Aaron Ginn, Jason (Sarah) Ray, Michelle Bradley, Christopher Ray, Carrie (Brent) Cuyler, Bethany (Edward) Alfaro, Ashley (Josh) Crabtree and Alex (Allyson) Ray, and 8 great-grandchildren, Nicholas Ginn, Brooklyn and Baleigh Bradley, Caitlynne, Elizabeth, Carson, and Emma Ray and Thomas Cuyler. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Frank James officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Portsmouth 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Heartland.
