Cathy Grashel

Cathy A. Grashel, 65, of Rosemount, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday evening, October 19, 2017, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center, with her family by her bedside.  Born on September 20, 1952 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Phyllis Grashel and was a former nurse’s aide at Hempstead Manor.

Cathy’s greatest love was for her church, Calvary Baptist Church.  A dedicated life member, she was a Sunday School teacher for beginners for over 40 years and choir member over 50 years.  She was also a former member of the finance committee and church secretary.  Cathy dearly loved her pastor and her church family.  After leaving her midnight shift, she would go home briefly, and then proceed to church to teach her beginners and sing in the choir.

Surviving are two aunts, Norma (Walter) Roe of Hill View and Judy Grashel of Sciotoville and several cousins.

A Celebration of Cathy’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 24th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with her pastor, Ryan Brown, officiating.  Interment will be beside her parents in the Memorial Burial Park.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
