Charles “Powder” Walker, 77, of Minford, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. Born on August 1, 1939, he was a son of the late William and Florence Mullins Walker and was a self-employed contractor.
One of Powder’s favorite activities was going to the local flea markets.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 58 years, Elnora “Toots” Walker, who died in 2016, a son, John Walker, and brothers, Frankie, James and David Walker.
Surviving are three sons, Rick Walker of Portsmouth, Clint “Bo” Walker of Ashland, KY and Mike (Peggy) Walker of Sciotoville; two daughters, Beverly (Roger) Bobst of Portsmouth and Linda (Tony) Slusher of Minford; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8th, at Bailey’s Chapel Cemetery in Wakefield with Rev. Gary Heimbach officiating.
The family will receive guests at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
