Daniel Ray Scarberry, 70, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in the SOMC Hospice Center surrounded by his family. Born on November 5, 1952, in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Alfred and Dorothy Eldridge Scarberry and retired from Dayton-Walther Foundry.
Also preceding him in death was his wife, Sharon Kiser Scarberry, brothers, Kenneth Scarberry, David Scarberry, Jerry Scarberry, Bobby Scarberry and Steve Scarberry and sisters, Linda Neal and Alice Mae Scarberry.
Surviving are two sons, Larry Whitt of Rosemount and Gary (Julie) Whitt of Sciotoville; a brother, Rick Scarberry of Sciotoville; two sisters, Judy Bowen of Sciotoville and Joyce Bailey of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren, Larry Michael (Stephanie) Whitt, Cory (Britney) Whitt, Jordan Kingery, Christopher Klineman, Whitney Klineman and Jordan Harvey and seven great-grandchildren, McKinley Whitt, Kayson Whitt, Myah Whitt, Remington Whitt, Paislee Whitt, Rydar Whitt and Clayton Whitt.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE. Interment will be in Haverhill Cemetery. The family will receive guests at Brant’s from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
The American flags on the avenue will once again fly in honor of our proud veteran, Danny Scarberry.
