Daniel Alan Tipton, 67, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at home. He was born on March 8, 1950 in Portsmouth.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, James E. Tipton; his stepfather, Donald L. Smith and a sister, Lorri Tipton.
Dan was retired from Barbour Auto Parts, where he was known as “Dan the Mopar Man”.
Surviving are a son, Danny Lee Tipton of Portsmouth; his mother, Norma Burton Smith of Portsmouth; a brother, Rick (Pam) Smith of Portsmouth; three sisters, Vicki Tipton Evans, Karen Tipton Bailey and Cyndi Tipton Bright; three grandchildren, Joseph Tipton, Danny Lee Tipton and Taylor Dawn Tipton; a nephew, Donnie (Kelley) Smith and a great niece, Rikki Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 25th at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Randy Schintzius officiating. Interment will be in Bennett Cemetery. The family will receive guests at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
