Reverend David K. Evans, 66, went to with our Lord on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at his home in McDermott, OH. Born February 22, 1945, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Martha “Pat” Evans. Also preceding him in death were a precious son, Jeremiah David Evans, his uncle Richard “Dick” Benroth, and other cherished family. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Linda B. Leslie Evans, whom he married on May 20, 1983, a daughter, Kelli (Frank) Gartner, a son, Christopher D. (Tina) Evans, five grandchildren, Cole Evans, Isabella, Kimi and her mother Cindy, Carissa and Jordan, a brother, Richard (Sharon) Evans, a sister, Sharon Wehrly, a special aunt, Mary Jean Gossard, a nephew, Dr. Scott (Talia) Wehrly, a niece, Bethany Weaver, five special great-nieces and great-nephews, Caitlin, James, Zoe, Christopher and Jacob, and many other loved ones, including special nieces and nephews. Dave retired from the Lima, OH Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 776. He was a member of the Findlay Upper Room COG in Findlay, OH, where he served in many areas that included Men’s Fellowship Leader, Pastor’s Council, and as a Construction Project Manager, building an addition and renovating the church. He went on to Pastor the Lima Upper Room COG Inner City Mission Church for seven years, where he ministered to the congregation, as well as the homeless and hungry. Dave loved God and had a passion for ministry that drove him to serve in other areas of ministry, which included the Allen County Jail Ministry, and as President of the Findlay Full Gospel Businessmen’s Association. Dave’s wife, Linda, shares his passion for ministry, and together, they taught evangelistic seminars and ministered when and where the opportunity presented itself. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN PORTSMOUTH with Jack Howard and Mark Yarnell officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Portsmouth from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday.
