Dennis Moneypenny, 68, of Sciotoville, died unexpectantly at the VA Medical Center in Huntington on Friday, November 22, 2019. Born on December 27, 1950 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Harry and Mary Mills Moneypenny and was a retired manager for Bond Plumbing Supply Co.
Dennis served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a life member of the Clarksburg V.F.W. #573.
He enjoyed playing golf, pool, fishing, riding motorcycles and was an avid fan, of all things, Cleveland sports.
Surviving are his wife, Dena Hysell Moneypenny, a son, Sean William (Melissa) Moneypenny of Jacksonville, Fla; four daughters, Christina (Julian) Summers of Orange County, CA, Tiffany (Anthony) Guerrero of Sciotoville, Katie (Jerry) Carver of Sciotoville and Jessica (Jeffery) Delaney of Sciotoville; two brothers, Tom (Christina) Moneypenny of Clarksburg, WV and Kenneth Moneypenny of Dale City, VA and six grandchildren, Moneypenny Summers, Cash Summers, Logan Carver, Maddison Delaney, Sean William Moneypenny, Jr. and Brady Moneypenny.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion. A gathering will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors.
The flags on the avenue, along with the U.S. Army flag, will fly in honor of veteran Dennis Moneypenny.
