Donald G. Armstrong, 80, of Rosemount, died peacefully at home on Sunday afternoon, August 27, 2023. Born on August 26, 1943, in New Boston, he was a son of the late Charles and Marie Burchett Armstrong and retired manager for Big Lots.
A 1961 graduate of Glenwood High School, one of Don’s crowning achievements was being the “best coach” of Sciotoville Little League, having coached the Brant Funeral Service team for many years.
Also preceding him in death were his wife, Lillian Hunter Armstrong in 2020, a brother, Ronald Armstrong, and two sisters, Norma Jean Donathan and Connie Foulk.
Surviving is a son, Tom (Tammy) Armstrong of Ironton, a daughter, Jill Armstrong of Rosemount, a sister, Gwen Armstrong of TN; two grandchildren, Hunter Armstrong and Kaitlyn (Luke Wright) Carver; a special grandson, Nick (Lindsay) Cook and a great-granddaughter, Layla Cook.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 12:30 p.m., August 30, 2023, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park with military honors by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Memorial gifts may be made to Rosemount Fire Department.
The American flags on the avenue, along with the U. S. Army flags, will continue to fly in honor of proud veteran, Don Armstrong.
