Donna Kay Shepherd, 60, of Portsmouth, died Friday, August 30, 2013, at the SOMC emergency room. Born on September 9, 1952 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late John and Marie Riffe McNutt and was a long time employee of the Shake Shoppe in New Boston, most recently as manager. Donna was a member of the Sciotoville Christian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, also attended the Ohio Avenue Christian Church, and was a graduate of Clay High School. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Michael Dale, Donnie Ray, Ralph and Frank McNutt, and three sisters, Ramona McNutt-Blevins, Betty McNutt-Tombragel and Pauline McNutt-Simpson. Surviving are her husband, Darrell M. Shepherd, a son, Shawn Shepherd of Portsmouth, three brothers, Roger (Wilma) McNutt of Franklin Furnace, Joe (Alveta) Riffe of Mansfield, and Paul (Sheila) McNutt of Portsmouth, four sisters, Darlene McNutt-Lewis of Portsmouth, Marlene McNutt-Minehart, Phyllis Riffe-Adams of Mansfield and Dolly Riffe-Kuhn of Virginia and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Brant Funeral Home with Josh Book officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Monday.
