Donna Sue Montgomery

Donna Sue Montgomery (née Stacey), 79, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2024, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born on February 11, 1945, in Staffordsville, Kentucky and raised by Estill and Lorene Stacey. Donna grew up to embody the virtues of kindness and humor, which endeared her to many throughout her life.

Donna graduated from Portsmouth East High School and went on to work at several retail establishments, including National Record Mart, Fashion Bug Plus, Goody's, and Scioto Shoe Mart, where she was known for her quick wit and dedication to customer service.

Family was the cornerstone of Donna's life, particularly her beloved grandson, whom she affectionately called "Sugar Lump." She cherished every moment spent with him, whether keeping score at his baseball games or simply enjoying time by the pool. Donna's love for her family extended to all aspects of her life, including her enjoyment of cold margaritas and sunny days by the pool.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stacy and Amy Montgomery; her grandson and his fiancée, Mason Montgomery and Jenna Young; and special niece, Becky Canter. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Estill and Lorene Stacey; her husband, Harold Montgomery; and her sister, Mary Hewitt.

A service of remembrance will be held at NOON on Tuesday, July 16th, at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville, with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests from 10:00 am until the time of service at Brant's.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Courtyard of Wheelersburg and SOMC Hospice for their care, love and support. 

Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice, a cause close to Donna's heart. Donna's legacy of love and laughter will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her.
