Elton “Junior” Loop, 85, of Sciotoville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 2, 2012, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born April 20, 1926 in Lewis County, KY, he was a son of the late Everett and Gracie Fisher Loop, and was a carpenter. Also preceding Junior in death were his wife of 60 years, Elnora Kitchen Loop, brothers Charlie and Russell Loop, sisters, Opal Allen and Ethel Truman, a grandson, Stevie Loop, a daughter-in-law, Sharon Loop and a son-in-law, Ron Adkins. Surviving are a son, Monte Steve Loop, Sr. of Sciotoville, two daughters, Madonna Adkins of Wheelersburg and Sharon Cooper of Portsmouth, a brother, Fred (Donna) Loop of Oberlin, two sisters, Elizabeth Cook of Sciotoville and Shirley Pruitt of San Jose, CA; 3 grandchildren, Ron “Buddy” Adkins, Angela (Ryan) Swords and James “J.R.” Loop and 6 great-grandchildren; Austin, Ariel, Alex and Alexis Loop and Lance and Chelsea Swords. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Gary Shonkwiler officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday.
