Franklin Broughton

Franklin D. Broughton, 81, of New Boston, died peacefully, Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at the SOMC Hospice Center.  Born on December 4, 1936 in Smith Branch, KY, he was a son of the late Charles William and Mary Etta Robinson Broughton, attended Mabert Road Baptist Church and was a member of Laborer’s Local #83.

Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Karen Curnutte Turner Carter Broughton, a daughter, Pamela D. (Danny) Altman of Minford; two stepsons, Michael (Amy) Turner of Columbus and Steven Carter of Los Angeles; two granddaughters, Jessica Raynard and Amanda (Scott Kiser) Raynard; two step-grandchildren, Scott Altman and Nick Altman; two great-grandchildren, Kyndal Raynard and Ryder Webb; three step great-grandchildren, Laynah Kiser, Alexis Altman and Landin Altman and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was also preceded in death by five brothers, John, Bill, Paul, Kenneth and Ed Broughton and five sisters, Anna Mae Broughton, Cora McKenzie, Lucille Bevins, Maggie Broughton and Mary Morris.

A service will be held at held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3rd, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Jim Benner officiating.  Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in South Shore, KY.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
