Gary Lee Faulkner, 68, of Sciotoville, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. Born October 11, 1942 in Scioto Furnace, he was a son of the late John and Jettie Adkins Faulkner, was a retired conductor for the Norfolk and Western Railroad and an Army veteran. Gary was a member of the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion, New Boston Eagles, Western Sun Masonic Lodge #91, and Scottish Rite. Also preceding him in death were a son, Timothy Ray Faulkner, brothers Walt, Archie and Bill, and sisters Carol and Betty. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Sandra Kay Cottle Faulkner, a son, Todd Faulkner, and daughters, Terri (Steve) Ellis and Tracy (Brian) Wagner, grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle and Amber Lewis, and Aaron, Josh, and Brianna Faulkner, four great-grandchildren, Layne, Mila, Boston and Brady, and a loving mother-in-law, Daisy Cottle. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Lorin Hardin officiating. Interment will be in Mead Cemetery with military honors by the Irwin and Bakers Posts. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 4-8 p.m. on Friday. A Masonic service will be 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Gary was an outdoor person, who loved to fish, hunt and work in his garden and spent all of his spare time in his workshop.
