Geraldine Verity

Geraldine F. Verity, 72, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, June 14, 2018, at her daughter, Teri’s, home.  Born on October 24, 1945 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Rhoda Fields Dixon, and was previously employed at Star Workshop.

Geraldine graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1963 and was the manager for over 20 years at Scioto Valley Garden Apartments.

Also preceding her in death were a brother, Donald Dixon and four sisters, Juanita Mann, Margie Donathan, Helen Dietrich and Dorothy Charles.

Surviving are three daughters, Teri (Steve) Whittaker of McDermott, Sheila Verity Combs of Portsmouth and Melissa Bentley of South Shore, KY; a very special nephew whom she raised, Jerry Dixon; a brother, George (Janie) Dixon of Lansing, MI; seven grandchildren, McKenzie Whittaker, Madison Whittaker, C-Aira Verity, Corey Combs, Eric Combs,  Jarrod Bentley and Brooke Bentley and two great-grandchildren, Ayden Combs and Rhett Bentley.

A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Tim Roth officiating.  Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
