Harold Burchett

Harold Richard Burchett, 80, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on June 12, 1932 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Emory and Elizabeth Meade Burchett. Harold was a member of the Pine Valley Christian Church, a meat cutter at the former Massie Super Market and an Army veteran of the Korean War. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Barbara Underwood Burchett. Surviving are two sons, Rick (Lela Dukes) Burchett of West Portsmouth and Jeffrey (Claudia) Burchett of Lucasville, a brother Ray (Mabel) Burchett of Quincy, KY, and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah and Trent Burchett. A funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Phil Cropper and Bob Evans officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors by the James Dickey Post. Arrangements are under the direction of the BRANT FUNERAL SERVICE IN PORTSMOUTH. Memorial contributions may be to the SOMC Hospice and the Portsmouth Motorcycle Club.
