Hazel Dawn Smith, 91, of Wheelersburg, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the SOMC Hospice Center, with her family by her bedside. Born on December 17, 1931 in Long Lick, Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Preston and Sally DeVoss Wiggins.
Hazel was a homemaker and a Jehovah’s Witness.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, Homer Smith; a daughter, Betty (Amel) Dyer and a granddaughter, Michelle Smith.
Surviving are three sons, John (Dodie) Smith of Wheelersburg, Bill (Pam) Smith, with whom she resided and Jeff (Luvada) Smith of Wheelersburg; two sisters, Naomi (Sukhminder) Chahal and Eileen (Jim) Carnes; two grandchildren, Melissa (Dave) Perkins and Amel Dyer and four great-grandchildren, Nathan Smith, Ashley Smith, Cole Perkins and Dash Perkins.
A service will be held at Noon on Saturday, December 31st at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Brother Barry Henne officiating. Interment will be in Vernon Cemetery.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 10:00 a.m. until Noon on Saturday.
