Helen Kathryn Hieneman, 90, of Sciotoville, died Tuesday, October 04, 2011, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on May 6, 1921 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Dee and Edith McNeal Garvey. Kathryn was a member of the Sciotoville Christian Church for eight decades, the Busy Bee Quilters, Women’s Christian Service Group, and the Wheelersburg Eastern Star for over 50 years. Surviving are her husband, Fred Hieneman, two sons, James (Diana) Hieneman of Hilliard and David (Michelle) Hieneman of Elida, three daughters, Joyce (Roger) Gregory of Wheelersburg, Donna (Stephen) Chinn of Merritt Island, FL, and Jean Carver of Portsmouth, 12 grandchildren, Michelle Donaldson, Stephanie Conkey, Larry Hieneman, Paula Greer, Susan Vanderpool, Julia Smith, Jennifer Amiet, Shannon Bauer, Michele Mayes, Shawn Hieneman, Jamie Carver, and Tad Hieneman, 27 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Brian Enz and Mark Seevers officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
