Helen Louise Lowe, 83, of Sciotoville, formerly of Springfield, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center after a long illness.
Born on July 10, 1928 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Murphy and Anna Mae Jordan Kitchen, attended Riverview Baptist Church in Sciotoville, and was formerly employed at Yellow Springs Implement Co. of Yellow Springs for many years. Helen was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and loved to play canasta.
Also preceding her in death were her husband, William “Bill” Denver Lowe in 1988, sons, William Patrick Lowe in 2003, and Keith Everett Lowe in 2007, brothers, Willie, Robert, Charles, Earl, Lewis, Curtis John, Richard and Gary, and sisters, Grace, Hattie, and Jemima.
Surviving are sons Richard M. (Teresa) Book of Minford and Larry “David” (Paulita) Book of Sciotoville, daughters, Linda Faye (Eric) Harder of Springfield and Shirley Ann Lowe of New Boston, a daughter-in-law, Patricia Lowe of Portsmouth, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 12th at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Greg Frasure officiating. Interment will be in Scioto Burial Park in Rushtown. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
