Helen Louise Keibler Tipton, 82, of Portsmouth, peacefully went to be with the Lord in her home, Saturday, July 9, 2011.
She was born July 16, 1928 in West Portsmouth and was preceded in death by her parents, William and Oleta Keibler, by loving husband, Theodore Tipton whom she married in 1955, a daughter, Teresa Tipton, a sister, Betty Frazier and brothers, Howard and Carl Keibler.
Helen is the beloved mother to Rusty (Karen) Tipton, 63, of Portsmouth and Debrah Perez, 54, of Portsmouth. In addition to her children, she is survived by her sister, Judy Compton, of West Portsmouth: brother, David Keibler, of Carroll, Ohio: and 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Helen was an incredible mother, loving grandmother, wonderful sister, and encouraging friend. She was a very talented seamstress, amazing quilter, impeccable crocheter and loved crafts of all sorts. She will be remembered for her charisma and wit. She had an incredible sense of humor and a cheerful heart. She was a nurturing and attentive housewife and truly loved her roses.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Pastor Barry Pelphrey officiating. Interment will be in South Webster Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Portsmouth 4-8 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice.
