Henry H. Turner , 89, of Wheelersburg, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on January 27, 1924 at home in Wheelersburg, he was a son of the late Henry K. and Laura Rose Turner, and was a retired farmer and engineer for the Soil Conservation Districts in Lawrence and Scioto County. Henry was of the Methodist faith, was a dairy and cattle farmer, thoroughly enjoyed traveling and the Senior Citizens activities in South Webster, especially Tuesday morning breakfasts, and attended all bluegrass festivities possible. He was a 1941 graduate of South Webster High School and attended Rio Grande College. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Bettie Kuhner Turner. Surviving are a sister, Lenna Turner Raynard of Wheelersburg, a niece, Laura Gale (Don) McCleese of Wheelersburg, a great-nephew, Rocky Shane Collier of Wheelersburg, additional nieces and nephews, Fred (Sally) Weghorst of Logan, Joyce Mehrle of Westerville, Carolyn (Phil) Colegrove of Bellbrook, Connie (Dave) Schwamburger of Westerville, Mike (Barb) Filkins of Newark and Jeff (Barb) Brant of Sciotoville, and a special friend and caregiver, Burness Adams of South Webster. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Larry Moore officiating. Interment will be in South Webster Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the SOMC Hospice.
