Howard “Ozzie” Osborne, 79, of Portsmouth, died Saturday, September 03, 2011, in the emergency room at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on June 20, 1932 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Ralph Osborne, Sr. and Florence Martin Osborne. Ozzie was a Navy veteran, a retired auto detailer for Glockners, and a member of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge #72 and Valley of Cincinnati Scottish Rite, and a past member of the James Dickey Post of the American Legion. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Harold Osborne, a sister, Dolores Cooper, and a half-sister, Jean Osburn. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ethel Barry Osborne, a son, Mike (Liz) Osborne of Portsmouth, a brother, Ralph Osborne, Jr. of Elk City, OK, a sister, MaryAnn Jackson of New Boston, two grandchildren, Jason (Candice) Osborne and Amanda (Joshua) McAlister, five great-grandchildren, Allison, Jaylynne, Chelsey, Joshua, and Aiden, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Rev. Peter Michael officiating. Interment will be in Universal Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from Noon – 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
