Ira Mault

October 8, 1935 — March 4, 2014

Ira “Baby Boy” Mault, 78, of Wheelersburg, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at the SOMC Hospice Center.  Born on October 8, 1935 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Roscoe and Geneva Baer Mault and a lineman for the former GTE.  Ira was a Marine and Army veteran.

Also preceding Baby Boy in death was his wife, Virginia Craft Mault.

Surviving are two sons, Ira E. Mault II of South Webster and Clifford (Chongsuk) Mault of Sylva, NC; two brothers, Adair Mault of New Brunswick, Canada and Steve Mault of Portsmouth; three sisters, Alice Mault of Jacksonville, Fla., Gwen Morrell of Wheelersburg and Carolyn Mault of Aiken, SC; six grandchildren, Tameeka (Marc) Sexton, Ginny Mault, Jesse Mault, Jacob Mault, Geneva Mault, and Mira Mault; and two great-grandchildren, Harper Sexton and Virginia Sexton.

A funeral service will held at Noon on Thursday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Caleb LaFond officiating.  Interment will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Greenup, KY.  Military honors will be rendered by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.  The family will receive friends at Brant’s after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
