Jack Donathan

Jack Donathan, 77, of Cleveland, formerly of Portsmouth, died Friday, December 18, 2015, at Metro Hospital in Cleveland. Born on May 4, 1938 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Orville and Mary Mullen Donathan, was a Marine veteran, and a setup man at Alcoa for over 37 years.
Also preceding him in death were his wife, Margie Dixon Donathan, a sister, Mary Starkey, two brothers, Orville Donathan, Jr. and Jim Donathan, and a grandson, Danny Allen Donathan.
Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl (John) Coleman, Dawn (Mario) Mattio and Nadine (Raymond Orbas) Davis; two children whom he raised, Mark (Megan) Jelenich and Joe Ramsey; five sisters, Betty Bostwick, Wanda Davis, Dorothy Donathan, Pat Crisp and Doris Day; two brothers, Bill Donathan and Thomas (Donna) Donathan; sisters-in-law, Judy Donathan and Norma Donathan; and grandchildren, Douglas Davis, Amanda Coleman, Christopher Coleman, and Tyler Fuente.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion. The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
