Jack A. Spradlin, 88, of Wheelersburg, died Monday, February 11, 2019, at the SOMC Hospice Center with his family by his bedside. Born on May 25, 1930 in Bluefield, WV, he was a son of the late Clarence “Pride” and Thelma Combs Spradlin and was a retired gang foreman with the Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Jack was a Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Shenandoah, member of the Rock Church in Wheelersburg, past president of the former Wheelersburg Kiwanis and a member of Western Sun Lodge #91. He was a main organizer for the Kiwanis and Masonic lodge golf outings and loved to golf himself. Jack was a crew leader of the Reach Work Camps.
Preceding him in death were his first wife, Edna Hart Spradlin; a daughter, Rhonda Tudor; a brother, Clarence “Pedro” Spradlin and two sisters, Juanita Coon and Betty Perez.
Surviving are his wife, Jeannette Cunningham Spradlin, two sons, Randy (Kobi) Spradlin of Rosemount and Ron (Carla) Spradlin of Sanford, Fla; a stepdaughter, Zanita Watts of Franklin Furnace; a brother, Freddie Spradlin of Torrence, CA; grandchildren, Justin (Bridget) Spradlin, Nicole Leigh Spradlin, Tyler (Portia) Spradlin, Jeremy Spradlin and Becky Spradlin; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Sienna, Kailyn, Blair, Kent, Quinn, Lily and Leah.
A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 14th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Rick Clark officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Burial Park with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. A masonic service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.

The American flags will fly on the avenue in honor of veteran Jack Spradlin.
