James M. Wallace, 76, of Sciotoville, died Saturday, August 21, 2010, at his home. Born May 5, 1934 in Los Angeles, CA, he was a son of the late Robert and Opal Wallace and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Jim was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Jenowski; a brother, Bobby Wallace, a daughter, Rebecca Wallace; grandsons Phillip McPherson and Jonathon Darnell, and a great-grandson, Levi Crabtree. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Wallace; five sons, Roger Beattley of Los Angeles, Jeff Wallace of Sacramento, CA, Gary Wallace of Indianapolis, IN, James (Deanna) Wallace of Sciotoville and Billy (Tammy) Wallace of Indianapolis; four daughters, Denise Hatch of Sciotoville, Phyllis (Dave) Union of Marysville, TN, Trenea (Bill) Bentley of South Webster and Susan (Hoss) Gallion of California City, CA; 2 stepsons, Johan (Dolly) Kampfraat and Joe (Wendy) Kampfraat; 2 stepdaughters, Melinda Madigan and Selina Kampfraat, all of Sacramento; 43 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be noon Wednesday at the Brant Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Frank Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
