Janet Lee Felts, 85, of Sciotoville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 18, 2016, with her husband, “Buddy” by her side. Born on November 21, 1930 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Bayless Shackleford and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Sciotoville.
“Jinx” was a 1948 graduate of East High School, and a former employee at Millhuff’s Department Store, Barrett Insurance and Hunter Insurance.
Also preceding her in death was a sister, Betty Tierney.
Janet is survived by her husband of 66 years, Orin “Buddy” Felts; a son, Kevin Felts and a daughter, Kris Liles, both of Sciotoville; a daughter-in-law, Vicci Felts of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Lionel) Hamilton, Max (Ali) Liles, Megan (Jay) Ketter, and Craig (Cami) Felts and nine great-grandchildren, Alaina, Alexandra, Magdylan, Cooper, Bowen, Lilli, Avery, Aubrie and Benton.
A Celebration of Janet’s Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21st, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor John Richards officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
