Jean Kohart, 94, of Wheelersburg, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Hill View Retirement Center. Born on October 2, 1927 in New Boston, she was a daughter of the late William T. Harr, Jr. and Lucy Akers Harr and was a retired elementary teacher at both Garfield and Harding Schools with 35 years of service, holding a Master’s Degree.
Jean was a proud member of Wheelersburg Baptist Church and McGregor Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, Florida. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and America Association of University Women.
Also preceding her in death were a stepson, Van Kohart, who is survived by his wife, Jan Kohart of Paulding and a step-granddaughter, Heidi Dobbelaere.
Surviving are her husband, Frank Kohart, a daughter, Shauna (Roger) Thornton of Dayton; a stepson, Ken (Denise) Kohart of Payne; stepdaughters, Kris (David) Dobbelaere of Oakwood and Charlene (Jerry) Scharf of Ottoville; two grandchildren, Emaleigh Willoughby and Andy Thornton; two great-grandchildren, MaKenna and Paxton Willoughby; eleven step-grandchildren and thirteen step-great grandchildren.
A service will be held at the convenience of the family at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with burial in Memorial Burial Park.
Memorial gifts may be made to Wheelersburg Baptist Church or Scioto Hills Camp.
