Jeannie Purdy Burman, 64, of Blacklick, formerly of Sciotoville, died Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Zusman Hospice Center in Columbus. Born May 26, 1948 in Portsmouth, she was a daughter of the late Robert R. and Helen Jenkins Purdy and had attended the Sciotoville Christian Church. Jeannie was a retired secretary for Nationwide Insurance in Columbus and a 1966 graduate of East High School. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Angela Marie Beaver. Surviving are two sons, Jason (Heather) Beaver of Blacklick and Jeremy (Chelsey) Burman of Pickerington; two brothers, Robert J. (Mary) Purdy of Portsmouth and Richard L. (Lynda) Purdy of Friendship; a sister, Barbara (Jeff) Brant of Sciotoville and four granddaughters, Lauren, Audrey, Charlotte and Rylan. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Mike Gifford officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville after 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
