Jessie Wicker

Jessie Eileen Wicker, 91, of Franklin Furnace, died on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the emergency room of the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born on July 7, 1933, in Lucasville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Cora Lester Fields.

Jessie worked at the former Williams Manufacturing Co., ran the Wicker’s Grocery Store from 1960 until the early 1970’s and had been active in the D.A.V. Ladies Auxiliary.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Ellis Wicker, Jr.; brothers and sisters, Irene Williams, Charlotte Williams, Conard Fields, Edwin Fields, Evelyn McCain, Roscoe Fields, Ralph Fields, Jim Fields, Russell “Fuzzy” Fields, Raymond Fields and Betty Nance and a daughter-in-law, Nancy Wicker.

Surviving are four sons, Donald Wicker of Franklin Furnace, Ronald (Cindy) Wicker of Wheelersburg, Gary Wicker of Cincinnati and Larry R. (Donna) Wicker of Ironton; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Jared Timberlake officiating. Interment will be in Haverhill Cemetery.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
