Joanne Bauer
December 23, 1933 — July 20, 2014
Joanne M. Bauer , 80, of Wheelersburg, fell asleep in death on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Community Hospice Center in Ashland, KY. Born on December 23, 1933 in Dubuque, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Alton and Marie Zaph Bivens.
Joanne graduated from high school in Sturgis, Michigan and attended Western Michigan College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She taught school in Battle Creek, Michigan and also in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Later, she was employed at Kenrick’s Catalog Showroom. Joanne was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and greatly enjoyed sharing Bible truths with others.
Surviving are her husband, David W. Bauer, whom she married on December 22, 1954; a son, Daniel W. and daughter-in-law, Susan L. Bauer; a sister-in-law, Patricia Bauer, and many nieces and nephews.
Interment was in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Brant Funeral Service in Sciotoville.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2 nd , at the Wheelersburg Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Elder John Hibshman officiating.
