Joseph E. Hood, Jr., 73, of Sciotoville, died Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on May 14, 1942 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Joseph E. Hood, Sr. and Marie Phillippe Hood.
Joe was a graduate of East High School, employed at the former Empire-Detroit Steel Corporation and Goodyear Atomic Plant and was last employed at Community Action Head Start. He was also in the Air Force during the Viet Nam Conflict.
Joe was also preceded in death by a son, Darrell Hood and a brother, John Michael Hood.
Surviving are his wife, Victoria Kite Hood, two sons, Douglas Hood and Joseph Hood III, both of Sciotoville; a daughter, Julie (Bobby) Lindamood of Sciotoville; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Hood Emerick; a brother, Jeffrey Hood of Florida; nine grandchildren, Derrick, Shane, D.J., Jordan, Nathan, Luke, Brittany, Megan and Brooklyn and seven great-grandchildren.
Joe’s request was that there would be no service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the BRANT FUNERAL SERVICE IN SCIOTOVILLE.
