John Blevins

John R. Blevins, 69, of Minford, died Thursday, August 5, 2021, in his home with his wife by his side.  Born on January 4, 1952 in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Harmon and Irene Blevins.

John was retired from the City of Portsmouth with 42 years of service, and most recently was superintendent of Greenlawn Cemetery for over 25 years.

Surviving are his wife, Lily McKenzie Blevins, three brothers, Randy (Sherry) Blevins of Wheelersburg, Rusty (Cindy) Blevins of Stout and Damon (Shirley) Blevins of Portsmouth; a sister, Page Newsome of Sciotoville, two brothers-in-law, Cecil L. McKenzie and Bill McKenzie, both of Franklin Furnace; his stepmother, Sandy (Larry) Jenkins of Sciotoville and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 9th, at the BRANT FUNERAL SERVICE IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. Don Noel officiating.  Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive guests at Brant’s after 11:00 a.m. on Monday.
