Joy Mann

Alvonia Joyce Mann, 84, of Wheelersburg, went to be with her Lord Sunday evening, January 9, 2022, at the SOMC Hospice Center.  Born on December 27, 1937 in Charleston, WV, she was a daughter of the late Reuel and Elsie (Asbury) Miller and was a member of Berean Baptist Church.

Joy was a very active pastor’s wife, having participated in church choirs and worked in the Ladies Spectacular, with sometimes over 500 ladies in attendance.  She was most passionate of her work with children in the church.  Joy was a cancer survivor and caregiver for her mother with Alzheimer’s and a son with cancer.

Surviving are her husband, Pastor Fred Mann, three sons, Stephen (Caroline) Mann of Wheelersburg, Jeffrey (Maria) Mann of Buchanan, MI and Scott (Meredith) Mann of Gastonia, NC; thirteen grandchildren, Evangeline (Dempsy), Isaac (Kacie), Stephanie (Jeremy), Christiana (Phillip), Moriah, Micah, Jocelyn, Lyndelle, Baughan, Brionnah, Raleigh, Ryder and Everly and eight great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Joy’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 15th, at Berean Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Davenport officiating.

The family will receive guests at Berean from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice or Berean Baptist Church.

Joy donated her body to the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of the BRANT FUNERAL SERVICE IN SCIOTOVILLE.
