Kathrine “Tup” Bryant, 62, of Portsmouth, went home to be with her Lord on July 14, 2014 at KDMC in Ashland. Born on January 20, 1952 in Portsmouth, Kathy was a daughter of the late Vernon and Mildred Burt Stiltner, and also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Joe Bryant.
Tup leaves behind her five children, Billy Jo Sowards, Vernon Sowards, Walter (Alysha) Bryant, Marie Anderson and Rhonda (Greg) Bentley and nine grandchildren Brittany Sowards, Tyler (Tabby) Sowards, Kiara Sowards, Isaac Anderson, Austin Tindall, Nevaeh and Remington Bryant, Nathan (Amber) Bentley, Reese Bentley. Also surviving are her siblings, Dave (Brenda) Stiltner, Les (Amy) Stiltner, John Stiltner, Raymond (Tammy) Stiltner, Joyce (Oscar) Gartin, Linda Alley and Faye Parsons.
Kathy was a member of the Seventh Street Christian Baptist Church in Portsmouth and was an inspiration to all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Seventh Street Christian Baptist Church with Darren Lore and Lisa Crawford officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
