Kathryn Elizabeth Fowler, 90, of Sciotoville, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on December 4, 1921 in Scioto County, she was a daughter of the late Harmon and Elizabeth Kathryn Harcha Veneer and was a retired cashier for the former Millhuff’s Super Market. Kate was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and its adult Sunday school class, and previously enjoyed bowling and making crafts. Also preceding her in death were her husband, Francis Percy Fowler, a sister, Isabelle Collier, a son-in-law, David Grashel, and a grandson Shawn Grashel. Surviving are three daughters, Judith Grashel and Kathy Fowler, both of Sciotoville, and Marilyn Messer of Chillicothe, seven grandchildren, Anita (Bryan) Corbin, Russell (Kelli) Messer, Kristin Hughes, Mark (Angie) Grashel, Tracy Messer, Nickolas (Lucretia) Shepherd and Katie Shepherd, and 15 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a sister-in-law, Mary Kisor and brother-in-law, Jack Keyser, both of Portsmouth. A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Ryan Brown officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
