Larry Joseph Bell, 79, of Sciotodale, died Saturday, October 31, 2015, at the SOMC Hospice Center. Born on July 1, 1936 in Scioto County, he was a son of the late Charles and Rosella Elizabeth Twigg Bell and was a member of Plymouth Heights Church of the Nazarene.
Larry was a graduate of East High School, a United States Army veteran and previous commander of the Disabled American Veteran Post #134, employed at the Empire-Detroit Steel Corp for 26 years, and most recently employed at Scioto County Vo-Tec was 20 years.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Humphries Bell, two sons, David (Lixin Yang) Bell of Fayetteville, GA and Douglas (Bess Gammon) of Stout; a former daughter-in-law, Ellen Bell of Wheelersburg; three sisters, Joyce (Dick) Hill of Greenville, Brenda Webster of Columbus and Cheryl Reis of Dublin; nine grandchildren, Jessica Bell, Alesha (Matt) Sanders, Ryan Bell, Ryan Howard, Kaitlyn Bell, Davin Bell, Sidou Zheng, Cassandra (Chris) Bihl and Justin Bell; and two great-great grandsons, Luke and Ben Sanders.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Burial Park with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion.
The family will receive guests at Brant’s from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
