Larry Ray Neal, 77, died Saturday, June 15, 2024. Born on October 17, 1946, in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Harold Neal, Sr. and Belvia Gibson Neal. Ray was a 1965 graduate of East High School and served in the Army during the Viet Nam War.

Also preceding him in death was his wife of 56 years, Sharon Hess Neal, and brothers, Mike Neal and Dennis Neal.

Surviving are a son, Larry “Boomer” Neal II of Minford, two daughters, Sherri Lynn (Scott) Brunner of Rosemount and Angela ”Pickle” (Gary) Keeton of Minford; three brothers, Harold “Shorty” (Jean) Neal of Portsmouth, Tim (Myra) Neal of Otway and Ron Neal of Wheelersburg; grandchildren, Amber Bussler, Scott Brunner, Jr., Jessica (Tim) Neace, Jacob Keeton, Mariah Neal, Kendra Neal, Kyle Neal and Kadin Neal, and great-grandchildren, Barett Beauen, LydaBeth Conner, Makenna, Layla and Ivy.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Rev. George Vastine officiating.

Military honors will be following the service by the James Dickey Post #23 of the American Legion.

The family will receive guest at Brants from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
