Leroy “John” Williams, 90, of Sciotodale, died Monday, June 18, 2012, at the Southern Ohio Medical Center. Born January 22, 1922 in Athens, he was a son of the late Ellis and Dora France Williams and was employed at the former Detroit Steel Corp in the rod and wire department. John was an Army veteran of World War II. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Leo Williams, Ellis “Babe” Williams and Clifford Williams, and two sisters, Shelley Tuggle and Betty Jane Williams. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Lillie Bailey Williams, two brothers, Rufus “Junior” Williams of Slocum Station and Marvin (Alice) Williams of New Buffalo, Michigan and a sister, Elsie (Ralph) Crowe of Centerville. A funeral service will held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Perry Prosch officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion. The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
