Luther Scarberry, 78, of Jackson, formerly of West Portsmouth, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, with his family present. Born on March 15, 1940, he was a son of the late Homer and Stella Eldridge Scarberry and was a retired city bus driver in Toledo. Luther was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Louise Bland Scarberry, a son, Kevin (Shannon) Scarberry of Toledo; three daughters, Ruth (Phillip) Renner of Antioch, TN, Ruby (Denver) Spurlock of Clinton, TN and Rebecca (Aaron) Schumacher of Jackson; twelve grandchildren, Shannon, Brandon, Dustin, Shawn, Brad, P.J., Jeremy, Josh, Sierra, Mariah, Allyson and Dylan and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
A gathering will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5th, at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE.
Memorial gifts may be made to Heartland Hospice.
The flags on the avenue will fly in honor of a brave veteran, Luther Scarberry.
