Marvin K. Meadows, 89, passed peacefully from this life into eternal life after a brief illness on October 9, 2010. Born in Hinton, West Virginia, on December 17, 1920, Marvin was one of five children born to the late Russell and Mabel Whanger Meadows. As a Sergeant in the 555th Bombardment Squadron, United States Army Air Force, Marvin served his country in central Europe as an armament and aircraft machinist in WWII. He worked for many years as a machinist at the Atomic Plant, now known as USEC. Marvin is survived by three children, Thomas M. Meadows of Lewisburg, W.Va., Elizabeth (Libby) Brisker of Portsmouth and Mary Lynn (Mark) Bartoe of Meadville, PA; eight grandchildren, Thomas C. (Tori) Meadows, Holly Leeth, Alison (Chad) Sayre, Danette (Michael) Hagans, Jason Brisker, Ben Bartoe, Lacey (Sam) Stoner, Andrew Bartoe and eigh great grandchildren, Evan Leeth, Sophia Hagans, Xander Leeth, Elijah Sayre, Mason Reeder, Jack Leeth, Max Hagans and Emma Grace Sayre. A sister, Sarah Anne White of Rochester, New York and several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be held at Noon Saturday, October 16, 2010, at Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton, West Virginia with military honors provided by the Honor Guard of the West Virginia Army National Guard. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brant Funeral Home in Portsmouth.
