Mary Bowling

Mary Zelma Bowling , 78, of Sciotoville, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the Community Hospice in Ashland, KY.  Born on September 29, 1935 in Piketon, she was a daughter of the late David and Virgie Mullins Bowman.  Mary was a retired housekeeper at Southern Hills Hospital and Scioto Memorial Hospital and was of the Pentecostal faith.  Also preceding her in death were her husband, Ellis George Bowling, and two brothers, Charles and Robert Bowman.  Surviving are a son, Ellis Bowling of Piketon, two daughters, Carolyn (Butch) Meadows of Sciotoville and Susan (David) Bennett of Portsmouth, a sister, Katherine Cantrell of Neon, KY, six grandchildren, Shannon, Christopher, Mark, Michael, James and Christina, seven great-grandchildren, Megan, D.J., Abby, Cody, Addison, Mikail Dawn and Alan, one great-great granddaughter, Karlee, a lifelong friend, Mary Buffinger, and a special friend, Jeff Brant.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Cline McCallister, officiating.  Interment will be in Wheelersburg Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Brant’s in Sciotoville from   5 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
